Magnetic Field-Induced Deformation of Isotropic Magnetorheological Elastomers

In our research, the magnetic field-induced deformation of isotropic magnetorheological elastomer (MRE) discs loaded with two types magnetite and an iron powder were examined. A measurement system using a microscope camera was assembled, magnitude determined from optical contour obtained digital image processing. We found that MRE height-to-width aspect ratio 1:2 underwent expansion in direction external field all cases. The dilatation increased strength cases filler materials, but exact trend depended on type concentration filler. An inhibition polymerization matrix observed case one fillers, which resulted decreased zero-field elastic modulus at higher particle loadings. correlation between reduced deformation.
